Books and eBooks have different qualities that are suited to different needs. Traditional paper books are sometimes better than ebooks in certain situations, and vice-versa.
Books: Printed on paper. Can be sold after you're done reading. Old-fashioned experience of reading from a paper book. Manufactured in a factory and then shipped on trucks. Better for maps, sheet music, plays, or anything else that needs to be printed and handed out. Heavy to move and carry with you.
eBooks: Digital software. DRM usually prevents sending the file to someone else. Lots of new e-readers available to choose from. Can change the text size or font. Sometimes cheaper than the paper version. Doesn't take up physical space. Doesn't use trees for paper. Downloaded instead of shipped on a truck -- saves resources. Easy for travel.
There are many more differences between books and ebooks, but the points above are a general overview. Try some ebooks and decide for yourself!
