epaper

epaper is a technology that is used on ebook reading devices, such as the Kindle, Nook, or Kobo. It is also often referred to as e-Ink or E-Ink.

e-paper makes reading on electronic devices very similar to reading on paper. These devices are not back-lit, which means that your eyes aren't strained from looking at a lighted screen for long periods of time. The words on the screen display very similarly to printed words on paper. The texture of the screen even feels a little like paper.

This technology not only saves your eyes, but it also saves your battery because a light source doesn't have to be powered for hours while you're reading. epaper devices can commonly go for a month or more without needing to be charged, even when being used frequently.
